Reflection: I have learned a lot of knowledge about the safety in a construction site. It must have safety environment for construction to going on. Besides that, I have improved my presentation skills by repeatedly practice during tutorials. It will have good opportunities for us if we have a good communication and presentation skills in our future career.

Building Services 2

From this modules, we have learnt about air-conditioning system, fire protection system, mechanical transportation systems and also the electrical systems. All of these topic make us understand the systems going on. There are 1 mid-term exam, 1 individual assignment, 1 group assignment and final exam.The topic of the individual assignment is the ways to improve green technology and we are required to write essay.For the group assignment, we are required to go for a site visit of shopping mall and we have chosen PJ Trade Center as our site.

Reflection: From the assignment, we faced a lot of problems when requesting permission for site visit. We have being refused by a lot of shopping malls and they not allow us to visit. But luckily, the peoples of PJ trade center treat us very nice and give us the permission to visit. I have learnt how to communicate to the people that lead us to see around. It have improved our communication skills and problem solving skills. This site visit is a great chance for me to see the system flowing process and eye-opening experiece.

Construction Technology 3

For this semester, construction technology 3 has covered the topics including tunnel formwork, retaining wall, industrialized building systems(IBS) and so on. All of these topic is regarding of technical knowledge of construction and basic practical that we will get into in the future career. There are four compenents of this subject, which are 1 individual assignment of drawings, 1 group assignment about ct video, 1 mid term exam and 1 final exam. Since semester 2, our lecturer Mr Chiew has taught use Construction technology and definitely the individual assignment and group assignment are same over the time. The individual assignment is still the 20 drawings about the components or connection of basic components. In the other hand, group assignment is required us to form a group and take a video regarding any topic that we have learnt.

Reflection: I am so lucky that is being taught by Mr Chiew for two semester and i have gain a lot of knowledge about the components during construction. From the group assignment, we got the chance to go Sunway company to take video of the process of their construction work. It is a good experience and i also improve my communication skills through this assignment. The topic chosen is bored piles and we have experiences directly to see the stages going on and we can see how the soil drilling out and pile putting into. I manage to improve my digital literary after finished editing the video of my part. In doing the assignment, we have learnt the teamwork to cooperate each others to complete the video before the submission date. This modules has really help me to understand the construction process more detail and i think it is useful for my future working environment.

Measurement 3

These modules are all about measuring various types of opening windows and door. The doors that I have learned including metal frame door and timber panel door and the windows including timber louvered window, casement window, aluminum frame window and so on. There are a mid term test, group assignment, and a final exam. Moreover, we are required to learn a software called Glodon and it is very useful that can build a 3D model of buildings and take off easier. Reflection : From this subject, I have gained a lot of knowledge of the calculation of openings. It is useful in my career which will help me a lot when a calculating the openings. This should big thanks to our lecturer which always clearly explain to us how to calculate each of the openings accurately. He is very friendly and always answer our questions regard to the assignment and also the tutorial questions. I have improved my interpersonal skills during discussions of the assignment and understand the power of teamwork from doing the assignment. This assignment cannot be done by ourselves because it will be tough if we measure the openings one by one in the particular house. Besides that, we get to solve problems with effective solutions when completing the assignment given. Although this assignment is easier to be done but I enjoy myself doing it. It should be very useful for me in the future especially in my career.

Management Science

From this module, we are required to learn about strategic management, organization structure, organizational culture, communication , human resources management and much more. In this modules, the marks are distributed into 20% for the mid-term test, 30% for group assignment and 50% for the final exam.



The assignment is regarding about how to develop construction company with 1 million capital. In the report, we have 3 tasks including mission,vision and goals, organization chart, interview question and training development of the company. The concept we have learned during lectures and tutorials should apply on in the report.

Reflection :
     Actually, this is the first subject that related to management, it is a big challenge for me which let me get into some business management mind. I am so glad that I have Miss Tay as my lecturer as she is the real passion of teaching us this subject. She always gives us a big smile and approach us to let us asking her questions. At first, I thought this assignment was too hard for us but Miss Tay have given us a lot of information regarding of the assignment and we can do it easier as we thought.
     From the assignment, we have a great teamwork which all of us have tried to find the job description on the newspapers from our house. It is easier that we cooperate each other to achieve the work done.  Besides that, I have also developed my mind to have a more critical way of thinking. From the task of interview question, we discussed and find out what is more fit to ask and question. Therefore, I find this assignment very interesting and challenging and have learned a lot of knowledge that other module assignment might not provide to us.

Building Services 1

Our lecturer for Building Services is Ms Lim Tze Shwan. She is a nice lecturer and always gave us a warm and big smile when she saw us.Although Miss Lim is a part timer lecturer,she also very patient and teach us until we understand.

In this semester, the syllabus focuses on Ventilation, Telecommunication, Storm water system, Drainage, sewerage and treatment, Cold water supply, Hot water supply and so on.In this subject, we have an assignment which we needs to do both the report and presentation. 

Group assignment 1:hot water supply systems + Case Study
Through this assignment I learnt  how to identify the application system, installation,process, benefits, problems and anything relevant to hot water supply systems. I gained a lot of useful information of it. We need to find a case study and explain it, but finding the case study was tough and after we found it, all 7 if us have some hard time interpreting what it does and what it means.

Reflection:

In conclusion, it is a very interesting module to study and it completes my knowledge on how buildings work.This module is also almost related to our every day life and let me to know much about the components that complete a building in this module. Now I know that there are various types of ducts and conduits concealed within there compartments that keeps the building running .Besides that.we also know about the water we use and waste, communication between us, our room air purity. As a future quantity surveyor, we must know everything about the materials and the components inside the building, as it is crucial to identify and distinguish each and every one of it.

Construction technology 2

For this semester,our lecturer for Construction Technology 2 is  Mr. Chiew . Mr.Chiew is a very knowledgeable man and i like the way which he taught us because he could always use a easier way to let us know about the topic and what we need to know.Besides that,he keep encourages us to think more and often asks questions but none of us in the class can answers.Even so,he also very patient and telling us what is the answers he asked for.

We have learned topic that includes piling, basement excavation, partitions, scaffolding, precast concrete and some others in this semester.

Furthermore, we have an individual assignment and a group assignment. For the individual assignment, we need to draw about 20 pages of drawing that the lecturer gave.

For the group assignment, we have to choose 1 topic out of the whole syllabus, which the one we choose is concrete frames buildings.We have done 5 part,which includes foundation,staircase,column,scaffoldings and floors.

Reflection:
In the conclusion,I am so glad to be taught by this lecturer because he made this subject more interesting and fun.I have learnt a lot of construction technology knowledge and it is useful for my future life.

It is also counted as two assignments in this modules which are Levelling and Traversing.From this field works, I have learnt about what site surveying is and the basics of carrying out field works.It is a great experience for us to explore the instruments and we can do the field work by ourselves. Besides that, we also have a mid-term that test us from topic 1-topic 3.

Levelling is done with an auto-level. This activity functions mainly to calculate the reduce levels of the site. We did the field work and worked out a report.Next is Traversing. It is significantly more difficult to accomplish as it utilises a Theodolite instead of an auto-level. Setting up take more effort as it requires more precision. In our field work we aim to calculate the distances between points by using the stadia readings taken.

Information Literacy

In this modules,we need to achieved two assignment and one final exam.

Our first completed assignment for Semester 2 is a scientific poster which Colosseum. It carried a unique form of architecture that is unique to the early buildings of Rome. Through research we found out that this building had more stories to tell about and also let us more get to know the background of it. 

Next is group assignment which we have selected KLCC as our topic.We need to find out more information about klcc and we need to go visit it to take video for our assignment.It is a great experience for us to find information and put it inside the video.

Measurement 2

Our measurement lecturer for this semester is Ms.Habizah. She is very friendly and  I can always go to her and ask something that i was not understanding .

In this semester, I've learned about the building structures, and the finishes of the walls and staircases. The description has became more longer and more complex, so we'll have a hard time memorising everything.It is so hard for me to remember everything in the exam and written it down.At the beginning, I wasn't able to cope up with Ms. Habizah 's teaching speed in her lectures . But after going on few lectures later, its more comfortable for me to understand what she teaching.I began to understand how to calculate all the tutorial question which includes staircase finishes, structures, walls elements and the flooring.

For the assignment ,we need to calculate the wall stucture,wall elements,floor finishes and ceiling finishes.This assignment is much easier than the previous semester and we have more relax to do it. 

Reflection: I like this modules very much because it is very useful for my future studies.Measurement 2 is very interesting and i can learn about how to measure and calculate the measurement of whole bungalow.For our group assignment,I am so glad to join with my 7 good friends and we have good co-operations by each other and done our assignment earlier as we can.It is a good experience for us to discuss together for the answer that need to write in the assignment.
