This module covered two mid term test , one presentation and final exam. The two tests is online test and the final exam was held in grand hall.

We have chosen Taj Mahal as our topic in this assignment. We were required to do an report ,a A3 drawing and a presentation of the topic of our assignment.The assignment group with seven persons.

In the presentation,we were need to explain the architecture of an ancient building and present it with slides.


Reflection:

From this assignment,I have learned about the architecture and also the history of Taj Mahal.Ms Puteh is a good mpu lecturer as she have always made funny joke to let the students enjoy of her class.

What is measurement 1

Measurement 1 is core subject of my sem 1.Throughout this module,we have learnt a lot of calculations of foundation, excavation, formwork,concrete, brickwall,reinforcement bars and stirrups.Besides that,we also have learnt how to write the taking off list,dimension paper,billing paper,query list and so on.

Measurement 1 is about understanding the construction and only you can measure about it.if you don't understand the concept it is hard enough to handle it.However,it Is definitely useful for my future job as a Quantity Surveyor.





For referencing, we were required to purchase SMM2 as our guidance for learning the rules of measurement.

We have a mid term exam (20%),assignment(20%),site report (10%) and a final exam (50%).

Introduction to Law covered topics like Malaysian Legal System, Contract and also Tort. For contract,we’ve learnt offer, acceptance, intention to it.For torts, about negligence, nuisance, intentional tort -trespass to person, land and goods,defamation and malicious falsehood.We were exposed to real cases that are related to either contract or tort.


Throughout this module we had to complete 2 test (each 25%) and a final exam. The first test was based on Malaysian Legal system and contract law.We were tested on various area of law based on contract law.The second test that was held after our semester break. The second test was based on tort and the areas of law under tort.No assignment and presentation were required to be done for this module.


 After completing this module I learned the importance of law to a quantity surveyor. I am very interested in this subject because this is very new for me and I haven’t learnt it before. For Contract Law, I think it is harder to understand compared to the Tort of Law.When we have some problems, Miss Shoba will definitely explain one more time to us until all of us are understand. Besides that,she was interesting as the students were welcomed to have different views and voice out their opinions about a specific case.I think law is very interesting as it can protect me and help me a lot in my future. Hopefully I can get a better result in the final exam.
